Nathan Schmid, of Burnsville Receives Scholarship From The University Of Minnesota, Morris

Nathan Schmid, of Burnsville is one of many students to receive scholarships from the University of Minnesota, Morris for the 2013-14 academic year. Schmid is the recipient of the Theodore S. and Tone H. Long Scholarship.

Ted Long taught English at the University of Minnesota West Central School of Agriculture from 1925 until 1960 and at UMM from 1960 until 1969. Tone taught WCSA home economics from 1927 until 1937. The scholarship is awarded on the basis of merit and motivation.

Schmid, will graduate from Morris in 2016 with a degree in social science, Spanish, secondary education.

More than 300 donors, scholarship recipients and family members attended the annual Scholarship Jubilee on November 16, a celebration to honor Morris's generous scholarship donors and talented scholarship recipients.
