Matthew Wever, of Barnesville Receives Scholarship from the University of Minnesota, Morris

2014 Dec 12

Matthew Wever, of Barnesville is one of many students to receive scholarships from the University of Minnesota, Morris for the 2014-15 academic year. Wever is the recipient of the Ernest Kemble Scholarship.

Established in 2010 by Dr. Ernest and Cathryn Kemble, this scholarship is for students who are juniors or seniors. Professor Kemble taught psychology at UMM from 1966 until his retirement in 1992. Cathy graduated from UMM in 1982 with a degree in elementary education, then went on to enjoy a career in that field until her retirement in 1995. By establishing this scholarship, the Kembles hope to financially support students as they pursue their educational goals.

Wever will graduate from Morris in 2015 with a degree in biology and pre-veterinary medicine.

On November 22, 2014, more than 300 donors, scholarship recipients, and family members attended the annual Scholarship Jubilee, a celebration to honor Morris's generous scholarship donors and talented scholarship recipients.

Through personal and academic discovery, the University of Minnesota, Morris provides opportunities for students to grow intellectually, engage in community, experience environmental stewardship and celebrate diversity.
