Matt Wilts of Alexandria receives honors and awards at the University of Minnesota, Morris

Matt Wilts, of Alexandria, is a recipient of the Matthew Ian Helgesen Award from the University of Minnesota, Morris.

The Matthew Ian Helgesen Memorial Award was established by Tim and Jean Helgesen in memory of their son, Matthew '06, this award is given to the Captain of the Bad Movie Club. Matt was one of the first students to start the club during his freshman year at UMM. The award honors the values of UMM and reflects student initiative and creativity in leadership, and serves to encourage the Captain to keep the club going by doing "all the extras that always need to be done."

Students were recognized in a special Honors and Awards Ceremony on Friday, May 11, 2012, at the Morris campus.
