Lindsey Thurk, of Lakefield Receives Scholarship from the University of Minnesota, Morris

Lindsey Thurk, of Lakefield is one of many students to receive scholarships from the University of Minnesota, Morris for the 2014-15 academic year. Thurk is the recipient of the Carrie Wickstrom Scholarship.

A scholarship Carrie Wickstrom received while attending the University of Minnesota West Central School of Agriculture made it possible for her to complete her high school education in 1929 and to go on to college. Carrie taught for 30 years in Ulen and Montevideo. Selected for academic merit, recipients are students pursuing education licensure, with preference given to those intending to teach at the elementary level.

Thurk will graduate from Morris in in 2015 with a degree in elementary education.

On November 22, 2014, more than 300 donors, scholarship recipients, and family members attended the annual Scholarship Jubilee, a celebration to honor Morris's generous scholarship donors and talented scholarship recipients.
