Jacquelyn Danner Receives Scholarship From The University Of Minnesota, Morris

2011 Nov 30

Jacquelyn Danner, Woodbury, is one of many students to receive scholarships from the University of Minnesota, Morris for the 2011–12 academic year. Danner is the recipient of the John Q. Imholte Scholarship and the Karyn Nielson Memorial Scholarship.

The John Q. Imholte Scholarship was established in 1990 on the occasion of Jack Imholte's retirement as UMM's chancellor after 21 years. He was a member of the original faculty when the Morris campus was established in 1960. The scholarship is awarded to students who have completed 60 credits of course work and have demonstrated outstanding academic ability.

Gregg '70 and Judy Nielson '72 established this scholarship in memory of daughter Karyn, a UMM legacy student who died in 1993 as the result of a horse-riding accident. It is awarded to students who share Karyn's passion for community service, church activities, and volunteerism.

Danner, will graduate from Morris in 2012 with a major in social science and secondary education.

More than 220 donors, scholarship recipients and family members attended the annual Scholarship Jubilee on October 8, a celebration to honor Morris's generous scholarship donors and talented scholarship recipients.
