Corrie Nyquist, of Cokato Receives Scholarship from the University of Minnesota, Morris

Corrie Nyquist, of Cokato is one of many students to receive scholarships from the University of Minnesota, Morris for the 2014-15 academic year. Nyquist is the recipient of the Gertrude Gaffney Hanlon Memorial Scholarship.

Established in 1993, this scholarship provides financial assistance to students at UMM, preferably women of Irish heritage. Funds are provided from the estate of Dorothy Hanlon, the daughter of Gertrude Gaffney Hanlon. Dorothy Hanlon was a teacher and administrator with the Bureau of Indian Affairs for many years.

Nyquist will graduate from Morris in 2016 with a degree in biology and environmental science.

On November 22, 2014, more than 300 donors, scholarship recipients, and family members attended the annual Scholarship Jubilee, a celebration to honor Morris's generous scholarship donors and talented scholarship recipients.
