Amanda House, of Gilman Receives Scholarship From The University Of Minnesota, Morris

Amanda House, of Gilman is one of many students to receive scholarships from the University of Minnesota, Morris for the 2012–13 academic year. House is the recipient of the Karyn Nielson Memorial Scholarship.

This scholarship was established by Judy Nielson '72 and the late Gregg Nielson '70 in memory of their daughter Karyn, a UMM legacy student who died in 1993 as the result of a horse-riding accident. It is awarded to students who share Karyn's passion for community service, church activities, and volunteerism.

House, will graduate from Morris in 2013 with a degree in Spanish, European Studies, and Spanish K-12, Secondary Education and French minors.

More than 220 donors, scholarship recipients and family members attended the annual Scholarship Jubilee on November 17, a celebration to honor Morris's generous scholarship donors and talented scholarship recipients.
